Pic 3 definitely Trenton with the unique WWII surplus Marston Matting guardrail. As strict as NJ was with their racing rules, I cannot see how they ever allowed that as a guardrail. Pic 4, how about that 113 in wheelbase on McManns purple 4 with Craig McCaughey at the wheel. Exiting turn 2 at EWS. Possibly Ploski in the 76? |

That's Al Michalchuk in the #4 on the inside of Stan Ploski in the #76 (exiting turn 2 at EWS.) This picture has to be from very, very late in 1973, as Al only ran this configuration once I think. The next year, this frame had a purple Gremlin body on it with a yellow #4, and the sedan body in this picture was used by Al for the sedan he built over the 73 - 74 off season. |

Thanks Joe, when zooming in on the #4 I can now tell it is not Craig! One iteration of the Barker Bus #76's was housed (temporarily?) in the same garage right next to the dragster that my oldest brother Billy drove; housed at Durnheim's machine shop in Springfield, NJ. They were highly regarded for their engine and chrome moly fabrication work. Maybe it was in there for motor or chassis work at the time. Russ |

I think it's probably the same night. Is your photo dated Steve? I'm guessing Sept or Oct of 1974. They might be the only 2 pictures I've ever seen of him in the #4 sedan. |

I would say the top two photos are taken at Martinsville and the third photo is Trenton.

I have a piece of that guard rail hanging in my shop, still has the yellow paint on it, got it from turn 2. Also have a brick from grandstand A there too. |
