Will Cagle nice job Lenny. Watched a race at Nazareth national 1 1/8 mile. Will ran alcohol 55 gal. drum as the fuel burned off he got faster & he could steer. The way I remember it he caught Frankie on the last lap on the back stretch . Frankie throttle linkage broke they wrecked. Pic with Rags & Billy nice |

I was with Don Stives at Syracuse and Vic George from Ohio (#65) was parked next to us. After the race, Cagle asked who drives this 65 car, Vic responds "I do". Cagle then punches him in face, drops him, and tells him to learn how to drive a race car. Come to find out, Cagle was going to pass him on the outside going into the 3rd turn, somehow Cagle wound up in the fence. |

3 photos, 1 is my shot of Will at the 67 Boone 200. I believe he might have had a garanteed spot and didn't run time trials starting in the rear; 2 is from 1976 at the Syracuse qualifier at 5 Mile Point, he won that night; 3 is a Red Kirsch photo from Reading early in 1972.

Went over to their house in North Branch, NJ one night. Didn't feel well and fell asleep on the couch. Woke up and hurled all over the living room rug. After helping clean up my stepmother went and got my father out of the garage and said "I think we better go home...now!" |

Probably on the day the first picture in Lenny's thread was taken of Will and Barbara at Pumpkin Run, I got to ask Will about his "sneakers." Will told me that he would use a belt sander to thin out the sole (not sure if it was just the right one, or both)... to where it was paper thin because he said to really understand what a car is doing, (specifically the rear tires to the track), you need to be able to feel it from your seat (butt)... to your brain, back down to the gas pedal. To have the kind of control Will wanted, he couldn't get it wearing shoes or boots with thick soles. The thin sole on the sneaker allowed him to "adjust" the throttle pressure as slightly and as gradually as needed. |

1975. Pos...Basically the reason DIRT made the rule that you had to qualify within a certain time of I believe the fast time. No offense to Vic George but that car had no business being on the track when almost 200 cars didn't qualify. |
