I've been wondering about track conditions durring dirt modified events for a while lately. Are race tracks being "rutted up" or rougher now due in part to the suspension set ups in dirt modifieds? Looks like more than a few tracks are getting rougher with the mods racing on them than other classes? NOT NAMING ANY PARTICULAR TRACKS OR BLAMING THEM. Just seems like a trend to an untrained eye. Thanks for any comments.

It seems to me that todays Modifieds are slightly over-engineered. Too much like super Late Models that require a smooth, hard, slick asphalt like surface. Back in the day, dirt Mods could run an a wet, rough surface without too much suspension damage occuring. The shock packages are totally different now also. A lot more aero downforce with the wide bodies now too. Maybe the tracks should go back to 1976 Tobias Chassis copies (with 2X4 over the rear axel) with trailer bar front and leaf spring rear suspension.
