The coverage on Peacock has been fantastic.

Today was one of the most interesting that I've ever seen at Indy.  For those who have been following along, the challenges that the Rahill Letterman Team has had since unloading, resulting today in their headlining driver not making the show, and the determination by Jack Harvey (also on the Rahill Letterman team) and his crew to never give up and to find just enough to make the show when nobody at that point thought it was possible.  I also appreciate that their were no team orders to make sure that any one car on the team made the starting field over any other one of the team's cars.

As for the frontend of the field, the format that Indycar uses to get the top 12 and then the fast 6... and then the shootout that results with the winner getting the pole is about as exciting as it gets.  After what was shaping up to be a possible Arrow McLaren sweep, Alex Palou grabbed the pole for Ganassi, with Veekay getting second for Ed Carpenter racing. 

Other great stories of the week include both of AJ Foyt's drivers making the top 12 with Santino Ferruchi getting the 4th spot and rookie Benjamin Peterson 10th.  (For those who haven't followed the sport in a while, AJ's race team has not been competitive since Robbie Gordon drove for him over 20 years ago!

Katherine Legg being the fastest of the Rahill Letterman cars is also a great story.  She's a part time driver, and hasn't been in an Indycar in a while, and jumped off the high board and put the car in the field over her 3 teamates, and as a result, was able to avoid all of today's last row or bump drama.

I don't think there's been a need for one wrecker so far for in May at Indy, which with all the practice and qualifying, might be a first, so hopefully it'll be a safe week of practice and "Carb Day" (yup, they still call it "carb" day...), and hopefully a safe race too.

Would like to see Santino Ferruchi finish near the front, but my two front runners are Pato O'Ward and Alex Palou.

Final note...  No JR Hildebrand so for us that remember what happened on the last turn of the last lap of his rookie year (2011), we wonder, Is his chance to add to his page in Indy history complete, or will he be back in the future to give it one more try?
