Great seeing Mr. Del George again last night at Middletown's Nostalgia Night. Del will always hold a special place in my so-called racing-photography career. 53 yrs ago I took a camera to the races for the 1st time & the 1st pic that I shot that day at Nazareth was of Del.

Thanks for posting these photos, Jack. I'm thankful for my many memories of watching these heroes on the local tracks. Re the Gary Tetz photo: Is that one of Herk's Mallard roadsters?

Thanks Jack, could'nt make it this year, but your photos help tremendously. Your Del George photo launched a Hall Of fame career! (that deserves a book).

Book opens with you sitting in the hospital thinking about your Hall of Fame future as one of the greatest racing photographers in the Northeast or in the country for that matter. Than goes back a few years to childhood and life in Nazareth than onto your first press credential denial than approval. Family and post office.  I know a guy who has a real good vintage website and is also a good writer...Joe. Maybe Buffy who wrote a great book about a cowboy.  With photographs, the pictures tell the story.  Come on Jack!

Yup that is Herk's Mallard. I believe it's owned and being restored by Keith Majka.

Thanks both Gregs and Kev!

Haha Kevin on that book scenario! Hey, I was born on the exact same day as that cowboy, so there's even another angle. I can see it now...Buffy's next book... "The Cowboy and The Mailman." Just kidding, my friend! Haha

Talked to Keith quite awhile about the roadster, if he's going to put an offy in it.  Than got into a conversation about the origin of the offy's.  It's good to have people like that to restore racing history.  Talked a little about Henchcliff Stadium and if there will be a racing/car show there. I thought Nostalgia Night was a good time.
