Half of today's "racing fans" would have missed this because they were looking at their phones. At Flemington you learned early on not to look away from the action because you never knew what you might miss. When cars were on the track you didn't look down to get another beer out of the cooler; you didn't use the restroom and you didn't visit the concession stands. Paul gave you plenty of time later in the night to do all that. - David |

You're right about that David. As a 'yout, I emember timing concession stand runs to where as the checkered waved on one event, getting my fries or whatever, and running back up to my take my seat before the next green waved. It was that compelling that you didn't want to miss a single second of it. |
