In conjunction with the modifieds running what would ultimately be their last race at Harmony, the limited sportsman division also raced the evening of July 7, 1972.  36 cars attempted to qualify for the 20-lap feature. Heats were won by Larry Honey (1), Jay Beers (10) and Pepe Fernandez (X9), the consi was won by Tom Rientenauer (sp) (302).  The feature was won by Don Miller (24), followed by Larry Honey (1), Butch Tittle (Z), Jim Wismer (7A), Joe Poliacik (74), Joel Cochran (7 Eleven), Joe Dunay (18), and Ebby Ridge (64).

Limited sportsman drivers that evening included Don Hendershot (80), John Hanchick Jr. (44), Glenn Ehrhardt (23), Barry Kutz (42), Steve Christine (99), A.J. Seiple (35), Freddie Sabatino (33), Kermit Boger (98), Pete Madsen (82), Don Shepherd (53), Ken Kutzman (3K), A.J. Stout (9), Steve Svanda (76), Butch Riddle (8), Bill Taylor (7D7), Brent Dalrymple (20), Danny Smith (21).

Jim Wismer Sr. competed in both the modified and limited sportsman divisions that evening. In the modified division he finished 2nd in his heat behind Carl Van Horn, then finished 5th in the 100-lap feature behind winner Will Cagle, Paul Rochelle, Carl Van Horn and Ed Farley. In the limited sportsman division he finished 2nd in his heat behind Jay Beers, then finished 4th in the 20-lap feature behind winner Don Miller, Larry Honey and Butch Tittle. Per race records of that evening graciously provided to me by Jim's wife, Jim's earnings in the modified division totaled $490, his earnings in the limited sportsman division totaled $93.

Wismer was shi**ing in high cotton that day! Probably stopped for steaks on the way home!
