Kevin has my schedule down to a T..... I watched the pre-lem events on Thursday night, and shut it off right before they began driver introductions for the A Main, and went to bed. Made sure I didn't read anything today to let me know who won, and then when I got home from work, turned on Flo - shieded my eyes from the top of the screen where they usually have topstories/clips of who won etc., and scrolled down until I was in the replay section. Clicked on Eldora Million Full Replay, fast forwarded up to the start of the A and watched it like it was happening live (without knowing the outcome.) Lots of hype and an OK race. As someone mentioned in this thread, glad to see the $'s stay somewhat local and with a grass roots team. Now it's 10pm on Friday night and I just got done fast forwarding through the SRX deal at Stafford. Not really into it, but probably just enough to do the same thing again next week. I understand 100% why they are putting more current cup drivers in the show, but I really don't need to see more of Hamlin, Harvick, and I know he has some fans here on the board, but I'm totally not into the whole Clint Boyer deal, and don't need more of Joey Logano in the booth. (He does a good job, but the whole thing seems a little too Nascar'ish.) What's weird is that I remember the original IROC deal started out with a wide variety of Motorsports represented, but in the later years it was a bunch of mainly cup/Nascar drivers. Would love to see some lesser known driver's get a shot, but looks like guys like Hamlin (Fed Ex) and others are bringing some $ to the table. The most exciting race last year was when the local guy had a shot to win until Marco jumped the late race restart and they didn't call it back or penalize him because... well, because he's Marco I guess. |
