Page 44, Steven Bubb talks about why Bowman Gray is so successful.  It's so simple.

Kev I watch occasionally on FLO, did you see 2 weeks ago when a driver got put in the wall coming out of turn 2 and while he was out of the car looking at damage, he grabbed a full bucket of speedy dry and chucked it at the car that dumped him when he drove past under caution!! I think those antics keep some of those fans in the seats too!! LOL

I've been there about 10 times now over the years. I've always left feeling I got my money's worth. Why is it so good? It's $12 to get in now. Every week no matter what's scheduled. It was still $10 every week a year or two back. You cant beat that. There's no bad seats. Wherever you sit, it's a great view. They start on time every time and finish less than 3 hours later every time. Only four classes and they all have full fields or close enough to full. No 5 car features here. The place is spotless and we'll lit. The parking lots are clean and paved. The restrooms are all brand new and as good as at any state of the art NFL stadium. The racing is always tight. You're going to get that when you put 20 cars on a quarter mile track. I could go on and on but you get the idea. Some people think it's a backwater hillbilly track because they see videos of racers behaving badly, but you don't see a new video like that every week. People who don't go just think it's that way all the time. It's not. Mostly it's hard close racing. Go if you can.

Stanton https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBkyPnwC_is . Pretty fuuny.

Kevin, you may have not read the article, but you could have wrote it. Exactly what Stephen Bubb said.

I've only been once, but it amazes me how the whole show goes. You really don't see all the crap they show on youtube, it's very calm there, but has it's moments.

Now with Matthew Dillner and a young girl doing the Flo announcing, if someone spins his first words are "the crowd is going crazy, looks like there will be a fight" than the driver drives away like nothing happened.

Honestly, I did not read the article. My AARN subscription expired earlier this year and I haven't renewed it. The wife and I used to go to Bowman Gray in the middle of the afternoon and grill some burgers or dogs and sit in the shade with some drinks before the races. And the parking lot would be filling up with other people doing the same thing. I got a serious Flemington in the 80s vibe from it. We have a dog now so we can't be away half the day so the tailgating is over. LOL. Also the fans are nuts and are part of the show. They don't typically get unruly, but there's good guys and bad guys in every division. Passion keeps the fans coming back. I've only made it there once this year and it was right after 4th of July so the crowd was off. It's funny cuz I thought drawing "only" 10,000 fans was a bad crowd. Oddly enough the wife and I are going on Saturday. Season finale and she hasn't been there yet this season.
