Here is a photo provided by Ralph Banghart that he wanted me to post.The photo was taken in the 4th turn at Nazareth.The drivers are #7 Tommy Sheetz,,#2A Bill Descovich,, #1 Bob Malzahn.It says Malzahn on the door but do you think it is Malzahn or Budd Olsen ? When the car #1 crashed into the light pole it looks like the light fixture landed on the roof of the #7 and onto the ground.

I think it's Budd Olsen.  I like how casual he is with his arm resting on the door after this accident

Here's one of a similar looking sedan (maybe a different hood), with Bob Malzahn sporting a 3/4 helmet.  Not sure of the year.

Driver in the original picture has a 1/2 helmet.

rags didn’t drive the cope 1 until 1964 he was still racing in fla. in 1961

my guess is the driver is Otto Harwi in the 1 .....bud Olsen drove the maul 111 in 1961 and Bobby malzahn was driving the sss in 1961 malzahn drove the 1 in 1960 ... that’s why the name was still on the car

Harold Cope had two identical #1 sedans in 1961.  Bob Malzahn drove the one and on several occastions Bud Olsen ran the second car.  This day was one of those timed that two identical sedans were in the field with Bud in one of them.

It looks like the roof of Tas's 44 between the #7 and #1.
