I went to the 2 day World of Outlaws show at Williamsgrove a few weeks back and ran into Legendary crew chief and mechanic Davey Brown. Unfortunately I didn't have my tire with me, but I did get a picture with him. Do any of you have a legend picture with you in it that you can share here?

I have a photo of myself taken with Mario Andretti (courtesy of Ace Lane) at a Checkered Flag banquet back in the 90s.

LT, Joe Klecko and Linda Vaughn. I was elected at trade shows to end Linda's autograph line. My wife met James Gandolfini at a Rutgers game and was totally twitterpated, lol. I have an old VHS tape of Inside Drag Racing of an interview with Linda and I'm standing behind her. She also gave me a die-cast Hurst Olds when I left Mr Gasket.

I have photos with Frankie, Richard Petty, and maybe some others.

Does a future legend count?

I went to Darlington a few years ago and walked past a pop-up tent, stopping to double back and chat with Ross Chastain.

He was sitting there all by himself in a folding chair and I spoke to him one on one for a period of time.  We spoke of the racing scene in Florida and his runs earlier in that year and it was probably 15 minutes or more before my wife cajoled me to move along.  She has a good photo of us standing side by side somewhere but it was kind of cool.

I suspect that we will see his Martinsville move in the highlights all the way to the end of his hall-of-fame career.

Not counting meet and greets. My Father introduced me to Gil Hearne. I thought that was pretty cool. I met Joe Ruttman at Flemington. Also, saw Dave Marcis walking out of Pocono, I said hey Dave, he just looked at me kinda puzzled. Lol

But for me Gil Hearne is a legend.

Had lunch with Bobby Allison, worked with Jr Johnson and spent time at his house and shop. Meet Ned Jarrett at a talk here , what a great guy. Got to be friends with Tom Sneva and Bobby Unser when I worked at Trenton, and later worked with Bobbys kids Robbie and Jerry . Robbie was rookie of the year at Indy and Jerri won Pikes Peak a bunch of times. Got to know Gil thru Phil Speno and had lots of story time with him ,great guy for sure. Mike Wallace helped me do my bike helmet deal with Nascar, good guy. Got to meet a bunch of drivers working with Pat Singer, Herk, Oppermen was a friend and Merv was a friend I got to see at all the big races.  Been blessed to meet a lot of great people along to the way .

Don't know how I forgot Wendell Scott . They made him park in the goat barn at Trenton , everyone got the exhibition buildings with the lights and fans. He was always working harder than anyone else, him and Wendell Jr and Franklin. He always took time to talk to me even for a few moments but to a kid it meant everything . I got the seat and door skin in my shop from his last car. Means a lot to me to this day, he told me to never quit going after what I wanted. Those words still ring in my ears to this day.

Bobby Allison came into our local family restaurant here in Denver NC at lunch time about 2008.. Just a couple years ago was eating in our local pizza joint and Wadell Wilson came in for lunch...That was a great lunch listening to his stories..His mind works like Smokey Yunicks did..His grandson worked with us for about a year or so..Wadell was doing delivries for some courior service with race part sales.. Have not seen him for awhile..Like DN said earlier years this area was all about racing.. There are a few yet but you have to go look for them...We have Mike Harmon and his Xfinity team..not sure how long he will keep going?

I had the honor of joining Joe and his family at the recent Hall of Fame induction. An amazing experience. Canton, Ohio is a great city that hosts this huge event. Something if your favorite player is inducted, go.

My wife and I met Davey Allison at an auto parts store that used to be outside the Whitehall Mall in Allentown, PA.  He was in his first year with the 28 and doing an appearance for Havoline.  Very shy guy.  My wife became a hugh fan.

I met "Uncle Bobby" at PRI a couple of years ago.  Nice guy and a great story teller.

I met William "the Refrigerator" Perry many years ago at the Fabtech show in Chicago.  What a huge man and it was obvious that he was being paid to be there and sign autographs, not be personable.

Like some others mentioned, I raced at Ric-Ra at the same time as Mario would show-up to watch Michael.  I also raced at Oreville.  Unlike successful guys like Howie, all kart acing taught me was that I was never going to be a race driver and I should, perhaps, persue another endevor.  Nothing ever stopped happening in fast motion for me!

My wife and I were staying at Motorsports in Valley forge and had Harry Gant at the next table for dinner. Harry is my wife's favorite driver of all time. We talked back and forth with Harry and his crew throughout dinner. His whole crew was surprised to learn there was such a thing as Long Island Iced Tea and that it was all alcohol. The next morning my wife ended up in the same elevator with Harry. Needless to say she was tongue tied.

One of my racing heroes from the 1960's was the late Phil Bonner, one of the Ford factory Drag Council team racers.  I painted a picture of his 1965 Holman-Moody built Daddy Warbucks Falcon FX car and was selling prints at the 1995 Super Stock Reunion in VA.  Phil did a number of signings with me that weeken in August 1995.  Phil was a great guy, hard racer.  I was a lot thinner and my hair was dark back in '95.

Have a picture of me and Don Garrett's from Island Dragway.  Might have from his 50th anniversary of first official 200 mph pass made.  It was made at Island.  The picture had an article that was in the Easton Express.

Also had dinner with Jr. Johnson, when I went to a race at North Wilksboro.  That's a story I might have told in a former racing related post.
