I learned something new Saturday on Flo. You can only watch 12 streams on Flo at one time and it shuts you out.  Saturday was some night on Flo. Utica Rome where Stew finished fifth in an All Star 410 and won the Modified feature, local Danny Varin beat the All Stars. Riverhead for a pretty wild finish to their 150 lap mod race. Bowman Grey finish was typical Bowman Grey antics!  The Topless 100 for Lucas Oil Late Models. Macon Speedway for the Midgets. USAC Silver Crown at Springfield Saturday afternoon.   Waaay too much.

Grandview in person as fan in the stands-A-meaningful heats as point leaders start in the rear and have to hustle--fireworks before modified feature which they ran before the sportsman--home by 11:15 despite some accidents early in the 50 lap feature. Great to get to one on a good weather night.

Packed house at Wall Stadium Saturday night. Hope the track owners do not pull the rug out from under it like what happened at ATCO. It is inevitable that they will get a $ offer that they cannot refuse. Let's all enjoy it while we can, you don't know what you got till it's gone!

New Egypt, as a fan in the stands.  Got to see my grandson take a lap around the track in his 1/4 midget.  First time back to New Egypt in a couple years and I will give them an A for a well run show and excellant racing.

The best thing was watching Louden Reimert holding Billy Pauch Jr during the Modified Feature at New Egypt Saturday night. Pauch tried to pull ahead of Louden several times. Good side-by-side clean racing action.

Billy ended up settling for 2nd place.

A wise man seated next to me at Grandview told me that chinchillas take dust baths, and we got one.

Mr. Eyres-  Your post re Flo Racing has all the earmarks of an addiction (to Flo).  Now I know why you "hammered" me to get it.  BUT, I'm glad I got it and wish I had gotten it sooner.  Am I addicted too?  Scott Ely

P.S.  Went to New Egypt.  Great show, loved the modified match races.  Only negative (and minor at that) was it took awhile for the wingless sprints to line up for their feature.  They can't use the excuse that they have to be pushed off  because I believe they are self starting.

Another great show at NES.......... its the best fan friendly family oriented experience in the tristate area, the giveaways, the great racing.......the entire promotion is second to none.  Gratitude to the  Grosso's and the staff for bringing it back  to the first class facility it used to be. . Its only gonna get better. To those who used to attend and left during the past few yrs, its back to where it was. Bring some new blood and see for yourself.

Went to Natural Bridge Speedway in VA.

Likes:

  • Nice 3/8th mile dirt banked track with hillside seating where you can use your own chairs.
  • Virginia Sprint Series was on the card (Unfortunately only 9 cars)

Dislike:

  • Poor car count in all divisions. (miss the good old days of heats & consi to qualify for the feature) I know I'm preaching to the chior
  • Multiple Late Model classes that all looked the same, but not many in any class. (Late Model, Crate, Sportsman)

Korey blew the clutch 4 laps into the heat and we packed up and headed home after a 3-hour trek into the venue.

Best thing.... - Greenwood Valley Action Track is a cool little speedway, with high banks, and just the right size for 600s.

Second best thing - I saw, my bed, and my pillow, and it wasn't 3am in the morning.  Trying to find the bright side of a tough outing.

Kinda like towing 4 hrs to US 13 and blowing a head gasket in warm-ups. Sucks but at least you get home early, lol.

Flo was crazy Saturday night. Hurt my thumb with all the flipping around...

Springfield - USAC Champ Cars

Macon - USAC Midgets

Riverhead - Mods which was crazy

Wilmot - IRS Sprints

U-R - Mods and All Star Sprints

Bowman Gray - what a mess

Batesville - Lucas Oil LMs

I went to New Egypt for Ron John night.   Being the track photographer it may sound bias but the racing was incredible, the track was awesome and very racey, the modified match races had everyone on the edge of there seats, the NEWS sprint cars continue to put on there best racing since there induction, Joe Toth is something to see in the sportsman, the young man can flat out drive....I cant say it enough if youve ventured from NES because of the last managment team I say do yourself a favor and give it another chance you will not be disappointed....the best track surface this side of Indiana bar none.

Watched a bunch of FLO Friday and Saturday night. Watching "Sunshine" Tyler Courtney win his first race back was cool. Checked on more races than I can recall.

Favorite was FINALLY making it to a race in person Saturday night on the way home from work at Mardela (MD) Kart track. It was good to see racing in person. Hoping to see Lucas Oil Late Models Thursday at Georgetown with camera and new lens in tow.

Allen

Went to Lorain Speedway west of Cleveland Ohio for the asphalt wing 410 sprint show.  Local hot shoe Craig Mince  running a Fremont dirt car with a 360 in it set fast time.  I thought that was pretty cool !

After a dozen or so visits spread out over 15 years I finally saw a garbage show at Bowman Gray. WWE shenanigans all night long. Sunday I saw an unentertaining Cup race on TV. Nothing at all can rate as the best thing I saw this weekend

One of the most sucessful tracks in the country. If you cant pass them cleanly, bump them out of the way. To me, thats not racing.
