I couldn't find the Cup race on my guide. The internet says NBC tonight. Turns out it's on MeTV, owned by NBC. Kind of a backslide.

If that's the case, there's gonna be some upset Svengoolie folks!

(Not sure if there are any other folks out there that know who Svengoolie is but he's a corny (by design) entertaining comedian that hosts a old school Saturday night old horror movie show on MeTV, with comedic breaks throughout, and his time slot forever has been Saturday night at 8pm on MeTV.)

Joe, I know that guy. He's a modern day zacherley.
Maryland has a Ravens game on nbc and the race on MeTV.

My TV lineup here in central NJ says the race is on NBC, but there's a NJ Giants VS NY Jets preseason game on before it, so I'm thinking that they may start the race on a different channel if the game isn't over in time.  Not sure where to point the DVR, so I'll just leave it on NBC 4 and see what happens.

Last night's race at Daytona could be seen on Peacock for free ... there is a free trial option.

The race lived up to the "Memorable Entertainment Tele-Vision" name. Thank goodness Preece is ok.

It was on regular channel 4 out of NYC when I got home from New Egypt Speedway. Not sure if they switched to that after the Giants vs. the Jets game was over or not. Or with the early start in the Football game if it ended before Daytona.

I recorded the race starting at 7. Had to FF through and hour of prerace. And apparently I chose a low definition channel. Oh well.

My DVR recorded (NBC NY) captured the end of the Giants VS Jets game, and then joined the race somewhere around the 100 lap (?) mark (just after Bell and Gibbs got together and took out a bunch of cars as the coverage was showing replays of the wreck when they joined.)

Opinion #1- Didn't watch or DVR the cup race as I can't stand the NBC announcer crew.  Rick Allen gets too excited over too many mondane events during the race.  Fox's Mike Joy's a good one.  For me, Ken Squire was the best.  Getting back to NBC, last year I found it was a waste of time DVRing their races as they constantly changed channels on the day of the race, or they would switch the end of the race to another channel so they could show a horse race, or a dog show.  And I've got nothing against horses, or dogs. I know Fox has switched channels (Fox to FS1 or FS1 to FS2) in the past but I don't think they did it nearly as much as NBC.

Opinion #2-  Sell your DVR as I think Nascar is headed to a streaming service, similiar to a Netflix or Hulu, within the next several years.

Just My Opinion, Scott Ely
