Who knew they were racing yesterday? I might have gone but had no idea they were running. Ernie is right that it's disappointing that tracks don't post here--they might actually get someone like me to show up (after I gave up on Stew in the trucks).

Ed,  I guess short track racing has too many fans these days....  So many that almost all short tracks have determined that anyone interested in what is going on at their track will take the initiative and go to the track's Facebook page and look it up.

Remember the days when those responsible for promoting tracks did more than just put a post on the track's Facebook page?

Back in the day we had race promoters like Lindy Vicari, now days we only have race organizers.  Big difference between the two.

I don't disagree 100%, but you can't deny that Deyo doesn't do a "knock out" job promoting his STSS events. You never have to guess as to the date/time/cost of any of the STSS events. The guy busts his ass to find sponsorship for every possible event that happens during the running of an event.(so much so that it's almost annoying....but kudos to him for putting $ in the teams's pockets). 95% of the time his events are a two division show that is run very efficiently and gets the paying fan out of there at reasonable hour.

From the outside looking in, there are many promoters that don't really extend themselves or surround themselves with the right people in the marketing department.....but there is at least one that still busts his ass.

Agree with Tom. You can go on Brett's site and know everyting about the event a month before it.

Deyo might be a great promoter, but in this case, Baps still lost out on at least possibly 2 tickets sold from the posters above. The website says $25.00 for Adults and $20.00 for Seniors.

3-Wide and South Jersey are free to post on their loss. As Ernie stated below it's disappointing.

Just to clarify--don't think BAPS was a Deyo show yesterday.  I agree he promotes well.

I just watched Mandee Mahaney's youtube video of her brother, Billy Jr., at Baps and thats the first I knew of the this event.  It may have been mentioned previously here on the board but why don't speedways post info and results regarding their events on the message board, cause it don't cost nothin'! (except a little time).  I'm sure there's a ton of race fans who don't visit the message board, or even know about it.  BUT I'll bet there's a decent number of fans that do visit on a regular basis and may decide to go to a race after their visit (to the message board).  I'm not against tracks advertising but again, its free, use it.  Scott Ely

P.S.- I know New Egypt Speedway posts info on upcoming events and results.  Their message board posts are usually my incentive for attending NES.  Kundos to the Grossos for posting on the board.

Not only is this message board free advertising, it's target marketing.

I don't want anybody to take this the wrong way, most of you on this board I consider friends (some of you I've never met) The August 27th race at BAPS has been on their schedule since it was released last winter. It wasn't added as a last minute surprise race. I knew about it months ago, and if not for a family event yesterday I'd have probably attended. I don't believe there was any sanction involved with the modifieds, certainly not with the sprints, so if anyone would've been posting about it, it would've been BAPS Motor Speedway. I seriously question whether they even know this board exists.

Does anyone still get AARN? I haven't in years, just wondering if all the tracks still advertise in there? If you think back 30 or so years ago, that's all we had to let us know who was racing when.
