Read on Dirt Track Digest (Ken Bruce author) that the 126 is no longer. What a sad day that another iconis car is going away. The Hynemans had some of the best ever drivers, wheel their modified.

WOW!  Just goes to show you that top notch equipment and a very good wheel man doesn't guarantee success.  A little luck always helps.   First saw the 126 at Grandview years ago with Barry Von Doren driving.  The 126 gave "Pauchie" a couple of his best years, actually monster years.  Always loved the look of the 126 as the current Jeff Strunk version looks alot alike the Barry Von Doren piece regarding color sceme and graphic design.  Always rooted for ther "126", no matter who wheeled her.  Scott Ely

He is spot on about the redraw. I’m quickly loosing interest in any form of modified racing because of the format. I hope Strunk lands a good ride as he is the absolute cleanest driver...

We've talked about it a few times on this forum. The stand alone car owner will continue to go away in Modified racing.

I don't know Mr. Hyneman but I of course know of his success as a top car owner. In the article he mentions he was lucky to have the top drivers he had. Those top drivers were also lucky to drive for an owner who would supply the top equipment and devotion it takes to be on top and stay there. I congratulate as well as thank him for making our sport better. I only caution him one thing, make sure you want to do this. The day my father woke up no longer the car owner it left a hole in his heart because it really gets in your blood.
