Well the NHRA was here in Charlotte this weekend and I didn't see one lick of advertising for the event . Only reason I know now is my wife just saw on the web Steward got DQed. And we wonder why there are empty seats and the sport is dying a slow death.

I watched it on Fox Sports since I caught the NHRA the week before on TV.  With the number of drag strips that have shut down this year. You would think they would try promoting the hell of upcoming events.  Houston is gone, Heartland is gone, etc.

I use to teach at the Houston track, they got a really nice high backed dirt track on the property much like the one at Charlotte. The problem is it is in Bay Town which is a really nasty town which I am sure is part of the problem why it closed down . Now it is a parking lot for flood cars like E Town and Atco . It seems like the track promoters are in self destructing mode. I hate it but the writing is on the wall for sure .

Many reasons, they killed the prostocks with efi, 1/8 mile drags, not on free tv, have to subsribe to something to watch, price of gas, around $70.00 for a finals sunday, flo racing or online viwing, watching money win every week, and just lack of interest. I wanted to go to Reading, but that was a $150.00 trip. I really miss going but to me its financially not worth it anymore. The lusture of drag racing is gone and there seems not to be any interest in keeping it alive.
