So nobody runs the category, we're looking for those responding to provide just two examples of car #'s (along with the driver's name) that you motorhead's  know was also a number that represented the cubic inch of a GM, Ford, Chrysler or AMC engine as it left the factory.

Note:  The car#/driver you provide didn't have to have that particular engine under the hood.  Just looking for you to provide 2 examples of car #s that also happen to be the same # as the cubic inch of a manufactured US engine, and the driver's name for each example.  Remember to provide the manufacture too!

Remember, please provide only 2 examples so other guys can add their thoughts too.

Just in case somebody was thinking it, no..., # "60 Over" was all about cubic inches, but doesn't work for this particular question....   but I like how you're thinkin'!

I'm thinking that most of the #'s/examples (with driver's names) that you guys will be providing will be somewhere between 200 and and 600, but you guys always come up with a few surprises so we'll see what happens....

Jay Aten in the Pados Brothers 400. I lettered this car on one day's notice.  (Chevy v8)

292 Al Michalchuk.  292 was a member of the Ford Y-block family (239, 256, 272, 292, 312).

Fred DeGroot #305. Although, don't think Chevrolet was producing these at that time.

Great timing Steve.  I just stopped by Al's and was asking him about the #.  He told me that there was also a 6 cyl truck engine that was 292 CI.  He also said that a 283 CI board out 30 over became a 292 CI, which I didn't confirm, but am thinking that's where he came up with the #292.

#301 Craig McCaughey  (AMC made 301CI used in Ron's r12)

There's a cool looking 3 window coupe in the Trenton section of "Forever Young" photos number 427 driven by Freddy Schultz.  Although its not cubic inches, Wild Bill Slater's sportsman #V-8 hot rods comes to mind.  The number was a replica of Ford's V-8 symbol from back in the day while his cars were Chevy small block powered.  Scott Ely

Oops...  Not sure how I ended up with "300" in my list of Chevy's, and how I forgot "348."

It's been over 20 years, and we still haven't gotten one response for that open Pruff Reeder's position..... 

Funny thing is that my dad had a Ford pickup with a 300ci straight six.

On another note, I think GM had a 402 (or was it a 401?) in the early 70's that I think was a cleaned bore on the 396...  I remember looking at a 1971 Monte Carlo back in the late 70's that I was going to buy, and I think that is what it said on the little white EPA decal on the radiator support.  I had never heard of it until then.
