These were basically asphalt slingshots. Two cylinder fully suspended little race cars. Some might remember the   61 displayed at Motorsports 15 plus years ago. New England based class the never caught on. Here's a link to cars, chassis and parts. In Ohio for some reason.

I remember 2 types, one had a-frame front end with a locked in back axel, the other had rear springs with a locked in fronr axel. More like glorified go-karts. I saw then race at Poughkeepsie, NY? Stafford inner oval races a similar class. The fully suspended ones raced down south and might have been called Mini Cups?

I think these were built by Wild Thing Karts. The first place they raced was Sugar Hill Speedway and called SH Modifieds. Control arm front and a suspended swing type rear. There videos on YouTube. Would have been cool in Boardwalk Hall.
