Homer, NY's Dale "The Natural" Planck is the latest driver to become a member of the list of drivers that have had their driving careers researched and documented for racing fans, media and track personnel to use for entertainment, factual research or public comment.  During his career behind the wheel, Planck was a force to be reckoned with on the tough Brewerton/Fulton/Utica-Rome speedway small block circuit!  He eventually garnered a NASCAR regional championship through his dominant driving success.  Welcome to Dale Planck to the ARRA Research list of accomplished drivers having their career documented!

Thank you Fred and all of the ARRA associstes for all of the work you do to document the history of our sport. Dale was one of the best ever dirt "Small Block Modified" drivers.

The list joggled my memory. I did lose some respect for him when he did Craig Von Doren dirty at Grandview in the mid to late 90's to win a special race. The list shows it occuring in 1996. Another promoter (Friesen ?) rented the track that night, and they brought all of their own track officials down from NY to run the show. In the feature while battling for the lead, Dale got inside of Craig coming off of turn 2 and proceeded to stuff Craig up into the 3rd turn boilerplate. Blatant rough driving. No call was made and Dale went on to Victory Lane.

Never heard a driver boo'ed so bad!
