This is kind of a shot in the dark. I have this photo of our buddy Danny Mitchell's double deck flatbed rollback from 1973. Does anybody out there have any other shots of Danny's doubledeck rollback? Any photos would be of help, even if they only showed part of the truck. Side view and front view would be great. Any other photos of a 1973 Chevron[?] rollback on a Chevy C-60 would be a help. I've Googled, Yahooed and Duck, Ducked to no avail. Thanks.

How many of these coupes are former Buzzie Reutimann cars? |

If I were to guess, I'd say the coupe over top of the cab is not a Reutimann hotrod. The position of the hood looks to be a little low for a former "00". I'm thinking the other 2 coupes are former Buzzie coupes. Scott Ely |

The car on the top is a 2x4 chassis Danny built and Rags Carter totaled it at Orange County. The body from that car was used by Pete Brittain on one of his #72 sportsman. The car on the flatbed was Danny's first Buzzie car. The one being flat towed was Buzzies 1971 Reading car with the huge engine setback. Danny won his last EWS main in the Reading car. That car is also the one he put over the 1st turn fence at EWS. |

Bobby Thomas (IROC) bought one in 1969 or 70 and Buzzie drove it in the Eastern States and was leading and got a flat with two to go and I think ended up second.
Bobby Thomas' father passed and left this 19 year old money. Bobby went to East Windsor with a pocket full of money and basically pestered Buzzie into selling him his car. Buzzie refused til the number got to where he wanted it. Sold the car to Bobby and than asked him who he was going to get driver and Bobby answered "You". Almost won the Eastern States that year. Jim Hoffman went on to race the car for Bobby. |

I remeber that Eastern States very well, Buzzie was my favorite. I also remember the #100 with Hoffman in it. I think that was Buzzie's 1969 car. Danny bought the 1970 Middiletown car and ran it during the Tri State year, 1971. The next year he bought Buzzie's Reading car. Then late in the 1975 season he bought the Cagle pinto that he ran at EWS in '76. After '76 he didn't run EWS and we only saw hin a few times and lost touch. |

Ok, thanks. Would have been pretty cool owning a race car for the first time and winning the biggest race of it's time. |

One more thing. Danny owned an airplane and I flew with him . I can remember telling one driver in the pits at EWS that I flew with Danny and he asked me if I was out of my mind to fly with "Crazy Wheels". That was his nickname for him. I did hear rumors about him flying under bridges on roads that weren't completed yet. True or not, I can't comfirm it. That was a really good time hanging around Danny in the 70's. |

More on the car that Bobby Thomas bought from Buzzie: http://www.3widespicturevault.com/70spics&vitals/K04.02.14_100_THO_EWS_0070_1.htm Also, mentioning airplanes, Russ Dodge once told me that Elton Hildreth flew his plane under the Delaware Memorial Bridge... Not sure how you verify something like that, but that right there would have made Elton worthy of his "Wildman" nickname. |

Probably was the last time Will drove it. We met Danny at a season ending show at Nazareth and it was repainted with his #1. |
