The picture of Gary in victory lane is at Syracuse. It's the 77 big race that was run in April of 78. Very cold and track was actually frozen in spots from the winter. Elvin Felty (46) ran in the top five most of the day and even hung with Gary and Toby Tobias up front for a while. The blond holding the baby is Karen Balough holding oldest son Brian. Saddly they are both no longer with us. |

The Syracuse Modified 1977 rain delayed race was run on April 15, 1978. That was a very, very cold day. |

Nazareth Speedway with 300 Bobby Pickel, 88 Whip Mulligan, 2 Jackie Mclauglin, 77A (just the roof visable) Sammy Beavers, 10 Otto Harwi and good old Jerry Fried standing on the right in his trademark suit, tie and hat. |
