BAPS MOTOR SPEEDWAY BREAKS GROUND AND HISTORY WITH McGrewBid Motoplex

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

York County, Pennsylvania – December 1, 2023

The BAPS Motor Speedway management team is proud to announce construction and formalized plans for a new micro racetrack named McGrewBid Motoplex.

“Having a talented General Manager like Kolten Gouse on our team means we can think big with ideas to grow our audience base,” comments Owner, Scott Gobrecht. “Why not build a second track that can run different cars on different nights?”

Already securing a five-year naming rights deal with McGrew Equipment’s online auction platform known as McGrewBid, the nationally recognized Gobrecht-Gouse duo set expectations high to attract a new micro sprint community.

“It just makes sense,” states Gobrecht when asked about the McGrewBid naming rights deal. “We’ve been doing business with the McGrew portfolio of companies for several years now and we share a lot of the same customers. They have a need to reach a bigger audience for the online equipment auctions and we can deliver for them.”

The establishment of McGrewBid Motoplex marks a historical milestone for the already motorsport-rich Pennsylvania landscape. The first notable accounts of PA auto racing can be traced as far back as the early 1900s. However, McGrewBid Motoplex will be the first new PA racetrack built in over three decades.

“There hasn’t been a racetrack built in Central Pennsylvania in over 30 years,” Gouse elaborates, “and we are extremely excited to share this historic undertaking with our partners, race teams and passionate fans.”

Another positive note is Findlay Ohio's Millstream has new owners and will open for the 2024 season. There is a lot of history there as it was the Sunday night staple for Ohio sprint car racing. It fell on hard times with some slippery operators & promotors. It has been published that Attica, Fremont, and Millstream will be working together which should really make this area a hotbed for cost effictive  open wheel racing.

Too bad for the Susquehanna Quarter Midget club that is loosing their track. There is room on the front stretch for a 1/20 mile QMA regulation sized track. Just measure off 100 ft long straights and place truck tires down flat in each of the 4 turns.
