Phil Spiak from NY state. Ran pavement mods and the Grand American division. Which is what the Camaro is apparently trying to qualify with the modifieds. Pic is from '69 or '70.

I recall that Bobby Allison showed up at a 60s Trenton modifed show with a red and gold full fender Camaro #12 and was told that he had to remove the front fenders if he wanted to run.  Bobby loaded up and headed home.  Hopefully someone can verify this so that I can still trust my memory.  Scott Ely

In 1974 I think it was, I won a Trenton Qualifier Feature at Flemington.. It was a prefered spot not gauranteed.. I had no ride offers so I hung out with the Cozze Clan..Bobby Pickell ran there car..The car that put the show on was Neal Bonnet in Bobby Allison's full fender Camaro.. He missed first day qualifying so he had to start last in sunday consi...That was a full field back then.. The first lap he pased about 8 or10 cars and went on and won that easy...Started last in Main Feature and was hauling **s toward the front but about 15 or 20 laps it overheated..He ducked into the pits and they opened the hood but I think it was cooked...Never went back out...One hellava small block against all big block field..We had never heard of Neal Bonnet before.. The rest is history...They let him keep the front fenders that day...HtH    Oh Bobby I think finished somewhere 15/17...Needed that small block...

I remember the 74 race. Bonnett definately was the class of the field until mechanical issues ended his day.

Allison always ran a gas pedal that hinged on the floor and pushed against a rod sticking through the firewall. Neil drove without the floor mounted pedal.

It doesn't look like Phil Spiak standing next to his Grand American Camaro although his name is on the roof.
