There was a Flemington Speedway feature in a 1989 edition of the "GOLD CROSS" which was a magazine dedicated to fire rescue.  It shows both the Flemington and Milford squad attending to this driver after a flip on the backstretch.

I was just wondering if the driver was aware that it existed and if they would be interested in seeing the coverage all these years later.

Maybe this topic has been posted here before, not sure.  If I get a moment I'll look to see if I can shoot off some images of the feature inside.  I snapped a quick image of the cover as noted below.

I think it's Bruce Plemenick in the #20. Some one else can probably confirm.

According to a former crew member I'm friends with. Car doesn't look familiar.

Found it in "Modified Country Vol. 10, #8":

"Richard Baker, Jr. of Hatfield, PA, making his first start in the racing this season, lost control of his car on the backstretch and hit the fence.  The car flipped over several times.  Baker was taken to Hunterdon Medical Center for Observation."  (Date was June 3, 1989)

There are two pictures of the car in the program-one appears to be the same photo posted here before the crash, and another of the car on the hook afterwards.  In the race report for the rookie feature, it says it was his first race.

Didn't remember this one at all without looking it up, but this is it.

Great work Mark!

Always appreciate it when you guys take the time to look through old programs, or old pictures... or even just think about memories/knowledge stored between the ears to help folks out when looking for information.

Thanks again Mark.

Just checking back on this. Thanks for the replies and going the extra mile and digging up the answer.

I wonder if anyone knows Richard by chance?

I will find a moment this weekend to shoot a few phone images of the interior coverage and I will dig a bit to see if I can locate Richard.... Although I wonder if he'll want to relive the moment after all these years...

There was a Richie Baker, Jr. that ran a #4B 600 micro at Kutztown this past season a few times listed from Quakertown, PA.  And I found a "Richie Baker" running a #33 sportsman at Bridgeport back in 2001, also from Quakertown. These two might be father/son, or they just never listed hime as "Jr" back in '01?

"Baker" is a pretty common name, but Hatfield and Quakertown, aren't too far apart.  I'd bet there's a connection somehow.
