The answer may lie within the question of how much does it cost to display a car.

This is the first show that I've missed in 35 years. For some reason, it no longer appeals to me. The anticipation and the joy of being one of the first people through the door has waned. I have no reason why.....but it no longer appeals to me. For the past 4-5 years, I went out of tradition. That is no longer a factor. I want to "want to go "....I just can't get past the fact that I really don't want to go. I hope all that went, enjoyed it and found it intriguing in the way that I used to.

I had cars in the show for the first 5 years or so and the show was a must go to event. I think you guys are getting bored due to the fact everything looks the same . There once was a time where you could check out the DIFFERENT cars , now everything looks the same except for the graphics. Yes I am sure price has something to do with why the show has scaled down over the last few years even just getting there cost way more than it use to, the fact is putting on a deal like this is a great deal of work and if you cant make money puting on the show it will like the tracks will probably go away . Lets face it the sport is fading in to the past and seems to get smaller every year. The cost of everything is goes up every year whether is building a car or buying a hot dog at the track.

Again I wonder how Flo is killing the sport as you can sit home and watch multiple races a night for what you might spend going once or twice to the track. Sure it's better eating you own food and peeing in your own bathroom but how long can a track survive with a few hundred butts in the stands. Yeah the back gate is keeping a lot of tracks going right now but 45 to 50 bucks to get in the pits is going to help speed up dwindling car counts as there is only so much the pocket book can take .

Let's face it the true glory days of racing are fading away, enjoy the times you have these days and smile when you think of the past and remember how lucky we were to have been apart of those times.

Face it the show isn't what it use to be. But what is? For the $15.00 bucks to get in it's still a deal. You get to see some new cars .Meet some of the drivers. Grab up some free stuff. Plus get out of the house and know the racing season, which ever series you follow is just around the corner. To the Sammons who I think still put the show on. GOOD JOB!

I think you hit the nail on the head.  I remember telling my wife as we walked out of the 2023 show I didn't need to come back.

There was ONE asphalt modified on display. As far as local asphalt tracks, NO Wall, NO Evergreen, NO Mahoning, NO Stamford, NO Thompson, NO Waterford, NO Riverhead, etc..... Unfortunately, it’s like that part of the sport doesn’t even exist anymore.

They don't charge you if you bring a car. It's also a Vendor show. Vendors have to pay. But I met up with 20 people that I know that I wouldn't normally see and caught up on their lives. Its a social event.Lenny Sammons busts his butt putting on this show and the indoor racing shows and has to deal with poor crowds and weather like Friday night. Me personally, I'm going to keep supporting him.

I went, spent my $15, saw a lot of old friends, shot the breeze, bought a few things, stopped and had dinner on the way home. It's a day out, enjoyed myself and I'll be there next year. Only thing I'm really not crazy about is the ride but I can live with that.

Hopefully Lenny Sammons sees these comments on this post and puts them in his memory banks. I did notice that the layout is pretty much the same every year. Maybe put the Vendors up front and the cars in the back of the show or put them out where the Miss Motorsports and interviews are held and flip flop the whole show.I can't speak for the Vintage guys, but it does seem they were the same cars every year which can get old. Maybe mix them in with the new cars and vendors and give it a different look. As far as the Asphalt cars, I don't have an answer for that.

I used to look forward to the motorsports show mainly to get the track schedules from the individual track display booths. Now,most are on websites before motorsports even happens.

I went, as I do annually. I'll admit, the amount of things to see is down a bit, but well worth the time and money. I always spent quality time chatting with old friends, and occasionally make a new one. Recently it seems I get to meet people I only otherwise know from Facebook, and I met a couple this year. With the demise of mall shows, this is the premier off season gathering. I'll continue to support it, and look forward to it every year. And we're now a month away from the start of the outdoor racing season, Icebreaker at Lincoln February 24-25.
