"Sedan  (Has to have a lot of rake to it, prefer stock side window openings, and driver needs to be sitting way in the back)"

"Gremlin  (Narrowed, little bit of rake, prefer when it still has some of the actual stock Gremlin body lines/markings such as indents on 1/4 panel above rear tire, tail light section on back panel, etc.,.)"

I see where you were going with that Dr Sigmund Eyres: Wink

Actually, my favorite all time sedan was probably Billy Matthews orange #57 (sportsman) that was the former Brightbill/Wertz(?) sedan that was mentioned in this same thread.

As for Gremlin's, I never really thought of a particular favorite, but now that I think about it, the above #292 (from 1975) with the wheels all painted up silver for opening night, is about as good as it gets for me.  I think it made it through warmups like this but by the middle of the first heat, the specator side no longer looked as nice as the driver's side... Undecided

I liked the detail that even though the original Gremlin body was narrowed, I think the window openings might still be stock, and the original look of the taillights and the fuel filler cap area were still maintained, and the indents above the rear tires on the 1/4 panels were highlighted, as were the door handle and the side marker light.

Great photo of what racers looked like years ago. The guy standing behind Larry is Joe Whitehouse, Al's brother.

Pic 5 - do not know the driver of the #17 coupe. You can see the inner oval. Saw a midget race on the inner track around 1974ish. It was a probably an SMRC event, maybe had 2 heats and a feature event. I am thinking that Carl or "Midge" Miller won the Midget feature event that day.
