My Grandfather, Charlie Springsteel has passed at 100 years old. He was a Wall modern stock and later a sportsman car owner. He was also involved in his son's Mike and Steve's race cars. In his later years he came to many microsrock races to help me. Not too long ago you could find him and my Father in the stands at Wall.
RIP Chuck #03 and #25

So sorry to hear this John.  Your Grandfather was as good as they get. Witty, and told you how it was.  I enjoyed seeing your Father and Grandfather at the races, they went often, even in his upper years.  May he rest in peace.

Kevin, I remember Chuck telling me that he visited you a Fish Hospital. He said he would never forget that name, nor will I.

Wow , when I broke my leg at New Smyrna.  Thanks for jarring my memory! It was a nice surprise when he came in.   Fish Memorial. lol. They are good at band aids and that was it!

Condolences to the family and friends of the Springsteel's. Thankful for his involvement in the racing world. In my opinion, the Springsteel's were a staple of Wall Stadium when I was growing up. The Springsteel family and the Blewett family are the first two names I think of when I think about Wall Stadium.

A lot of great racing history, and a lot of great racing memories made along the way.

My condolences to John and Family on the passing of your grandfather.

John- So sorry to hear of your Grandfather's passing.  My visits to 3Wide have given me the opportunity to get know a little about racing people and their families.  You, Charlie and your family for that matter, are diehard racers.  I've heard "Wall" stories (all good by the way) about your Grandfather from race fans that I've meant over the years.  Without race people like Charlie, speedways (especially Wall) wouldn't be same.  Racing centers around the race cars, but its the people behind those race cars shapes the personalities of racing, like Charlie.    Sincerely, Scott Ely
