This may not be the proper message board to ask this but I was wondering from those who either attended or watched on Floracing your opinion of the High Limit Sprint Car Series after completing their first 2 events of the season, Racing, Rules, Streaming Coverage, Whatever?

i will hold back my total opion till the end of the season , but being a sprint car nut ,mechanic, sponsor for over 45 years i eally dont understand it - they promise they teams all this big money and the 2 owners seem to take all the big money with larson claiming hes only there to help the promoter put fans in the stands , but wont take the dice roll extra money when its offered but would rather start on the pole ? - trust me im not hatting on this or the guys, but  i hope they work out the quirks -

Get what you're saying but he drives for someone else that may not want to risk getting torn up coming from the back. He's the one that has to fix it. Larson did take the chance at the Hoosier Hundred a couple years ago when he changed tires and came from last to win. I get it, mile track, longer race, different cars but it's not like he hasn't done it.

I was sorry that Blake Anderson is not announcing the series.  I really enjoyed the nicknames he had for the driver. Kinda what got me hooked on watching the All-Stars last year.

It will need time.  They want to see drivers be able to make a decent living racing.  I really liked their 11 race basically Tuesday schedule. I will support anything does the opposite or WRG. Not a fan of WRG tactics.
I've  said before, it will be pretty wierd for them when the owner of the series is accepting the champions trophy at his own banquet (Brad).   Rico winning would really help that series.
As for Kyle, he's like a young racer that and I really don't think he knows how great he is.  You see him in interviews and stories, and he just treats himself as someone there learning to race.  It's kind of strange but real.   Wait til he wins Indy this year and races somewhere Tuesday night. Kind of like a big Texan did a long time ago.

I still do not understand the demise of the All Stars. How many fulltime All Star teams have signed up to be fulltime High Limits teams?

What did High Limits receive from the All Stars? They showed a trailor on Flo. Larson and Sweet could easily afford a new. They would have likely received a new one for free from a sponsor. Timing equipment...big deal. High Limits isn't using Ohio Speedweek.

I would like to see another regional series arise. Perhaps FAST will take the lead.

My youth was spent watching races where a driver's earnings from his 3 most recent race nights would determine his starting position, assuming he qualified for the feature.  Those days are gone.  Not a fan of "the dash" to determine the first 8 in the feature.  Previous $$$ earned should at least determine where you start in the heat races.  I think Hi Limit is using time trial results.  Scott Ely

Time will tell. The part I hate is the people that feel you have to chose between them and the WoO. I have plans to attend races by both sanctions.

Wait and see for me.

Just don't want Brad and Kyle winning everything. Both are TREMENDOUS drivers. Don't want a series where the owners win everything.

Agreed. People act like Larson is unbeatable, but a few years ago I saw him (in person) start on the pole and NOT win.

They beat both of them on night #2.

"Sunshine" Tyler Courtney started outside pole, wrestled the lead away from Brad Sweet, and won a spirited duel with Corey Day. Larson looked very normal all night, spun during the feature, and finished last.

Rico beat him at Grandview last year. It can be done. Let's face it, the days of the fast cars starting 12-18 are long gone.

I agree, John, so now the real race is often who can get through the lapped traffic the best. I've seen many races lost in lapped traffic (and Larson won a few, laying back and letting the leader get trapped behind a slower car).

When the leader catches the back of the field, my race buddies and I put up two fingers to signal that "Race #2" is beginning. It can be as entertaining as watching Pauch, Brenn, or Polski come from 18th to the front.

So, how is High Limit with Sweet and Larson owning it different fron Roger Penske owning Indy and the IRL?  If you ask me series owners shouldn't be allowed to race in that series.

One positive of this is you currently have about 30 sprint car teams on the road. When it was just the Outlaws you had a dozen or so. Lots of drivers , car owners and crew are upping their game big time in 2024 and getting crazy amounts of experience being on a full time traveling racing series. I have no dog in the fight. The country is large enough and there's enough fans and teams for both groups to survive. If it isn't personal already, it will eventually get ugly between the two groups. That is inevitable. And that will be entertaining to watch too.

It will mean a few less cars at the local tracks.  Should be interesting at Lincoln this week is the weather allows them to run.  Probably no Peck, and Marks, maybe a few others .

T.T. for heat races fast guys in back and pay for heats. East Windsor's 4th heat was stacked like another feature those guys raced their butts off. One of my favorite tracks.Dont know if this will work nowadays. But it was exciting as heck.

They would need to put points for heat races cars passed or they will sandbag to start up front in heats.. I hate to see the 2 fastest cars start 1-2...not much of race after that unless a flat tire will spice it up some...

I wasnt there, it's a good 5 or 6 hours for me. My buddy lives much closer and he went on Saturday with some sprint car newbies. He said the track is nice and his newbies loved it. He said he'd go back next year so I guess it was good. The downside according to him is he thinks the Outlaws put on a better presentation. I didnt ask more but I suppose the overall look and feel wasnt there yet. He said it felt like a regular 410 show at Port Royal or Skagit. I figured some here would be interested in hearing an eyes on th ground report.

Kevin -

I was there but I have not seen enough sprint car races to judge any difference. I felt like only drawing 26 sprints took away part of the excitement (Lucas drew 45 late models) because there was no drama making the feature.

This year High Limit is playing music from a driver's playlist before each heat. IMO, I think it is lame. You can't hear the music and I'm old so I don't know many of the artists. There were no fireworks. You had your four-wide salute and confetti in victory lane.

Nonetheless, the feature was great with three drivers chasing each other and swaping the lead the entire race. I too would go back next year. I heard no one was there Thursday night fan wise and I was disappointed Friday got rained out.

I doubt they were expecting to need sprint car C mains and B mains at Golden Isles. That part of the country is a bit of a dead zone for 410s. I doubt there's even 10 of them based in a 200 mile radius of that track. They were probably happy to have drawn a full field. It's not easy being a sprint car snob living in the SE.
