Just the sound of that stirs up the memory bank, any 3 widers attending the indoor racing in Trenton this weekend?....Is anyone going to attempt the double?...Lincoln in the afternoon and Trenton at night, which brings up a question, how many have attended two races in the same day at different tracks?

Went to the Labor day afternoon race at Syracuse and watched Jack Johnson win. Then hustled it back to the flemington fair for the URC sprints that night and watched Glenn Fitzcharles win to close out the fair.

I parked strategically, did the NASCAR Pocono race on a Sunday, and made it to Penn National in time for warm-ups. I did the Saturday ARCA/Sportsman races many times and then went to Grandview.

Syracuse SDW day stuff, than the satellite shows at Weedsport, Fulton, Rolling Wheels, and Brewerton.

Pocono to Wall on a few occasions.

Two amazing storylines out of Trenton Indoor.  Rob Vivona/Whitey Kid III in 2017.  Rob was battling cancer, started deep in the pack and won. Rob has since passed away and the trophy honors him now.  2023, 18 year old Adrianna Delliponti finishing second to Tim Buckwalter.   She got more cheers than Tim did.

Trenton track surface is always excellent, very little dust and extremely racey. Dress warm as the building gets cold at times to release fumes.

In the mid seventies during early season on Sundays, did Nazareth in the afternoon then headed down Route 222 to Reading. My '65 Impala would just begin generating sufficient heat by the time I had the roof of the Reading grandstand in sight!

Did the Syracuse SDW/Rolling Wheels many times. Syracuse/Oswego once. Did a Volusia/Volusia double when they had both dirt and asphalt tracks operating simultaneously. Watched the modifeds on dirt, then walked out one gate, through another to watch the supers on the paved track. You could pass back and forth as many times as you liked as I remember it...all for one admission price.

Did that Volusia thing a couple times, mid 90's. Never knew what track was next, year to year.

Original dirt track to the east, kind of a tri-oval, than converted it to asphalt to compete with New Smyrna. Failing as asphalt, they built the existing dirt track, during that time they ran both at the same time.   Then they tore down the asphalt track.   Is my memory correct?

Dirt track to the right, paved track on the left. Didn't they eventually tear down the paved track and pave over the dirt track only to eventually rip that up and go back to dirt? I seem to remember them having a NASCAR Busch GN race or some other touring series there, but I'm getting old and suffer from CRS these days.

The first sanctioned race on the half mile pavement was on July 1, 1989 when Rob Moroso won the BGN Firecracker 200. The Busch cars ran there at least once annually until 1993 when the Goody's Dash series cars ran a hundred lapper on the new 0.375 mile paved track.

From what I can remember, I have photos of Sammy Swindell and Bobby Davis Jr on the infield of the track to the right, dirt of course. Then I remember going to the same track paved and seeing the Busch series there. At year or two later they built the dirt track to the left.  I remember seeing dirt Late Models there (my first time ever seeing them). I remember that because the catch fence was brand new and silver chain link and you could barely see through it because of the grandstand lighting reflecting off it. STRANGE THING TO REMEMBER! I think that is the current track now and they tore down the tri-oval type track.

I read the Wiki on the place and am more confused!  Same owner paved it, sold it, and later bought it back and made it dirt again.

Those were the days of the NASCAR lure ie. Flemington. Big money, fake crowds.   It has all swayed back to dirt!

Many years ago we did Syracuse to Rolling Wheels in the same day.

New Egypt Rained out during the show so we ran up to Bridgeport and caught the feature.  A lot of driving for some guys from Cape May County.

I don't know if this counts or not, but we did the Flemings Pumpkin Run and Bridgeport Speeedway in the same day.

I remember doing the Pocono NASCAR (and USAC Indy car)/Nazareth half-mile doubles on Sundays a lot back in the day and I remember being so worn out from those doubles, even in my very young days. Usually the heat would wipe me out after a long day walking or standing at Pocono and I'd wonder why I'd attempt Nazareth at night? Also I recall a couple times going to the  Nazareth big track (Lindy years when dirt and asphalt in the Penske years) mile races during the day and then going to Grandview for a URC/SMRC race or something like that on a Sunday night and once did that double but to Central PA after Nazareth mile. Did the Syracuse/Rolling Wheels WoO double once.

Syracuse / Rolling Wheels,  Syracuse / Oswego, Nazareth / Reading, Pocono / Selinsgrove, all several times when I was younger.  Best was Trailways / Path Valley afternoon / night shows with the 600 Micro.  Won both 600 features. And, both were first times at each track.

Mahoning Valley/Nazareth. Pocono/Grandview. Indy 500/Eldora. That last one took some careful parking lot planning and a little hustle. LOL There's probably one or two more that I no longer remember.

For many years my dad and I would go to Daytona during the day, and then New Smyrna or Barberville (Volusia) at night.  Was also there for the years when Barberville (Volusia) had a dirt track and an asphalt track.

In the very early 70's we made it to Daytona and then what was called the Deland Dirt Track Classics at night which I think was a thrown together deal (temporary) racetrack to attract the $'s for all of us snowbirds who were down for speedweeks....  Guess what:  It worked!

Similar thing in the early 70's with going to the big track at Daytona, and then watching drag races at an airstrip on the stretch of Rt 92 between Deland and Daytona.

For several years we did a Double on Dover weekend, going to the Busch race in the afternoon at DD and then head to either U.S. 13 or Bridgeport or Airport Speedway at night.

One Double I did was in Pa. at Cove Valley Speedway for Champ Karts in the afternoon and then up to Hill Valley for Micros and Late Models at night.

The easiest Double was in Virginia at Dominion Raceway where I saw Sports Cars on their Road Course in the afternoon and Late Models and Midgets on the Oval at night.

A few times we did East Windsor and then headed down Rte 539 and caught the end of the races at New Egypt asphalt back when they ran Friday nights. Many times the races would already be over by the time we got to New Egypt but if they were still running we would pull in and catch the end of the show.

1978 Nazareth Tri Track 100, feature didn't end until 3:30 AM due to mud/fog. Got home at 4:30, slept until noon, then went to Reading. Once a few years prior we went an afternoon show at Reading and left before it was over to get to Flemington (it sounded stupid too us too, but we were passenger). I believe it was for the Flemington 200.

Pocono ROC qualifying, got rained out after a few cars tried to qualify (Daryl Lewis almost spun out twice on the backstretch of the 3/4 mile oval when the skies opened up, completing a 30+ second qualifying lap - didn't make the show but should have based on the effort alone!) then down to Mahoning Valley for the first time ever, a speedway my dad absolutely loved.
