I truly want the track to succeed, I really do, but we've been down this road before with Fred (the invisible owner and Joie who hides in the infield). I'm going to give it chance and hope they can give it a good hard honest try . Don't let us down. Thanks to the Grosso family for trying to make it the Saturday place to be. Your efforts have not gone un- noticed.

Nothing personal, just my opinion. Been there twice, not impressed either time. I watch mostly sprints, for modified I have Grandview 20 miles away. If I'm driving 1.5 hours to a racetrack I'm heading west, not east. Unless I hear rave reviews it would take a miracle to get me to return.

Never thought about it, but that's a wonderful idea David ! What's there to lose ? With the top drivers from last year committing to other tracks already, the water(along with other residual waste)at the bottom of the toilet is already swirling down the drain.

I know I'll visit New Egypt as its only about 30 mins. from me.  But, I must confess I wasn't jumping up and down with joy when I read this post.  What are the odds on NOT seeing Pauch Jr at NES this year.  Bridgeport (an hour) and Grandview (hour, 20 mins) will probably see me more this season.  And there's always Wall (45mins).  Scott Ely

I was just thinking (dangerous I know).  Bring back KEVIN EYRES to run New Egypt!  Didn't Kevin promote the track for awhile back in its 1/4 mile asphalt days?  Scott Ely

Pauch has already said he is going to race at Bridgeport. Stangle and Krachun have also committed to the Port. Sucks for Grosso to put the money into the track with moving the 1&2 turns, and new clay, on top of what he spent so far to start the season.

With all the friends Fred made I see it becoming a truck parking lot within 5 years.  Real bad deal for the Grosso's with all the money they spent spucing up the joint in the last year.

I was looking forward to a handfull of NEWS races with Mike Thompson there this season.  With Fred back in charge, not going to happen.  After the way he screwed over TSRS years ago, I swore to never go back as long as Fred was involved. I went back last year because of Grosso. Guess I can save a 3 hour round trip this year.

Didn't I read somewhere that Grosso had a long term lease though? I can't imagine how big of a smile Doug Rose has on his face right now!

I'm staying optomistic until given reason not to be.  If the new regime will copy the formula from last year, it can work.  If they go back to the formula of 4 yrs prior its probably doomed.  Crossing my fingers

Sad to read here all the negative posts about a race track.  Whether the comments are made due to personal reasons or because your favorite driver won't be a regular, we need to support tracks. By that, I mean to just don't say anything if it isn't positive.

Ya know the 1st time I went to Bridgeport, I drove to Conn, cuz that is where the only Bridgeport I heard of was. Got schooled. Then hauled ass down i95 so I could see the big bocks run. Made it in time and had an enjoyable evening too.

It is understood that we all don't like the same thing, if we did, everyone would be after your grandmother. Let's not speak ill of others, just respect those other grandmothers.....

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see any race track close, just going by past history with Fred running the place.  I no longer live in NJ, and I hope I'm wrong, wish Grosso still had the place.

You can get all you want for around $60,000 each and race for $2000 to win... never get a weekly show with those numbers.. Once a month for $20,000 to win maybe...Who is going to pay the purse... I might be too cheap on the motor price also and you will need at least 2...This is only MY opinion..HtH

Turn it back into a third mile semi banked paper clip asphalt oval. Go in with the Wall, MVS and Evergreen on the car specifications. Run pre season spring and post season races on Sunday. Run Tuesday night with a Thursday raindate during the regular season mid April thru mid Sept.

Fred's ace in the hole might just be to pave it and run mid week like when Jimmy Grbac ran it.

Interesting idea about paving it. I wonder if there are enough teams to support it. Maybe an asphalt track would work there.

Look at how poor the sportsman and modified car counts are at Wall I don't think NE could survive with a portion of those numbers IMO

If the hammer finally comes down on Wall that would be a viable way to go, otherwise I dunno. But runiing head to head with another dirt track so close on the same night never made sense to me.

A lot of tracks with close proximity have raced that way for years. The problem is all the negative talk doesn't help the sport much. Try to talk about the positive on who may be racing there, what divisions will run, if any new ideas are going to be tried. Just before Fred left and Grosso family took over fans where commenting on how quick the show was run.Getting out of there at a decent hour, and tire were was kept to a minimum. So lets see before all the bad mouthing.Support all local tracks before they're all gone.
