I wanted to let the racing community know that my father Charlie Lindmar has passed away. He enjoyed making people happy with his racing art.

So sad to hear of Charlie's passing. What a great guy and i am so glad I got  to know him in the last 15 years.  You met Charlie and you couldn't help but love his enthusiasm and energy.  Gonna miss Charlie. Once you got to know him,  his artwork would show up in the mail.  I have a lot of his work. Gil Hearne and I was just talking about him over the weekend and how much we loved his artwork.  Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed.

neat guy He helped me  with images of racers for tee shirts for the GSVSCC.  I remember when we found his racer and he saw it at the Old Bridge Reunion. Neat stories and artist. JIM HALL GSVSCC

JOHNATHAN,   YOUR DAD DID A PICTURE OF MY CAR, FROM MEMORY AND GAVE IT TO ME. HE SURPRISED ME WITH IT ONE NIGHT WHEN HE STOPPED AT MY GARAGE. I'LL NEVER FORGET IT AND IT HANGES ON MY WALL. GOD SPEED CHARLIE.

So sorry to hear of the passing of fellow motorsports artist Charlie Lindmar.  He was a great guy and knew his way around a drawing.  Always good history in his work and ready to share it.  More than a few times he helped me out with details of certain race cars that I was picturing or wondering about.  My condolences to the family.  RIP Charlie, you will be missed.

Joel

Fortunate to get to meet Charlie at the Old Bridge Speedway reunions held a few years ago at the Thomas Warne Museum on Rt 516, half way between Old Bridge and Matawan.  His artwork had a cool vibe about it, which makes sense as that was Charlie's way as well.

A few of his drawings can be found here (3rd row from the bottom of the table):

Always enjoyed seeing and catching up with Charlie, whether talking about his artwork, or racing, or baseball, or whatever.... it didn't matter, it was just good to see him again.

My condolences to the friends and family of Charlie Lindmar.
