Since Williams Grove, Lincoln, Georgetown and Bridgeport all cancelled their scheduled shows, looks like Port Royal with the 410 car.  My first trip back to an in person event since my season ending open heart surgery in November.  Looking forward to seeing my racing family again.

Truck race tonight at times (flipping to Phillies and Flyers at every commercial) until Stew crashes, is not competitive or finishes in the top 5. Tomorrow, digging out the long johns (and pint of Yukon Jack) and heading to Grandview.

Our race season starts next Friday night at Linda's.  We have two cars this year, we have added a 600 Micro.  Shook both of them down at Greenwood Valley last weekend - all went well.

Saturday we are doing a sponsor event at Invertase Brewery in Phillipsburg (1 to 4 pm).  We will have both cars on display.

I might watch something on FLO tomorrow night and catch the cup race on Saturday.  Not available to get out to a track this weekend as I need to attend to my honeybees so they are not hanging in the trees.

Come out for a beer and support the team if you are nearby on Saturday.
Address: 51 Broad St Phillipsburg, NJ 08865

Thanks Kevin.  Korey and I spent a bit of time trying to improve the look of the cars for the Invertase sponsorship.  We put extra time this year in trying to land on an iconic look that we could stay with and I think we will keep this design pattern for years to come.

As Rick Shive will tell you - and anyone else that has done race car graphics, it's hard to find the balance to get a good look that checks the box on key points.

We wanted simple geometric shapes and easy-to-read numbers. We wanted a more classic look and not the swoopy swishy stuff going on these days.
- We had to carry the legacy of the Darrel Waltrip Orange that my brother had as part of his profile from years ago
- We want the number to be readable from the other side of the track. It is a little harder to do on the 600 and we might have made it bigger there, but it will look good on the XCEL.

It is an art and a science and here is to hoping that what we came up with will endure.

Korey applied the graphics and he's developed a knack for 'stickers' which I never loved. Maybe someday I can convince him to hand letter one of the future variations for nostalgia sake, but these came out as a good package.

Thanks for noticing.

They really look great!  Now the real test is track lighting.  It makes or breaks a race car look, most of the time.  Wall Stadium always had terrible lighting, so when you think bright colors you almost had to double the brightness whitch could sometimes make it look tacky during the day.   Always a tough balance.  Big, legible numbers are critical I think.
