I attended the Flemington Speedway Historical Society (FSHS) Tas Awards (Sunday) held at the Elks Club across from the former site of the speedway.

FSHS Treasurer Sandy Bate addresses the crowd at the 2024 Tas Awards

Great event - This year's event honored Fritz Epright, Mike Grbac, Joe Hall, and Dick Havens.

In addition to the awards presentations, and the acceptance by the Honorees, and/or the Honoree's Family, the event was a nice gathering of fans, former competitors, and others who will always have a special place in their heart for Flemington Speedway.

Excellent job by officers and board members of FSHS in coordinating the event, including all of the work leading up to it, and all that is needed on the day of the show.  Great atmosphere - Great food, and lots of pictures & memorabilia on display, with movies featuring some of the racing action playing before and after the awards presentations.

I got to say hello to quite a few "3Wider's" at the event - mostly folks that don't like to create posts, but said they check in everyday!

If you weren't able to attend this year's event, please consider being a part of next year's event, along with all of the other FSHS activities throughout the year.  All you need is a fondness for Flemington Speedway, and you'll fit right in!

Great job by all....., and for those who attended, but don't post, let me say on their behalf, thank you for another great day made available by the dedicated members of FSHS, and those who are commited to keeping the memories alive.

Grandview Moneymaker--B+--fan in the stands w/ some good friends. Good show on a cold and windy night and out of there by 10 pm.  Could have gotten an A if they ran the modified feature first (as initially announced) and/or if they drew for position in the 602 feature like they did for the mods (heads up start made that feature, which should have been last on the program, uneventful). Good crowd and good racing so I'm back for the Forrest Rogers and the 76er.

On Saturday afternoon I made the short trip over to the Invertase Brewing Company in Phillipsburg NJ to support the Inglin Racing Team at their sponsor event.  Got to speak with Korey and see his 600 and XCEL race cars. I first got to meet Korey a few years ago at the Phillipsburg Mall car shows, I was impressed with the young man then and remain impressed with his humbleness and attentiveness to the fans and friends who came out to support him and his sponsor. I also made sure to thank Invertase Brewing owners Steve and Stephen for their sponsorship of Korey's racing efforts.

I did the same Greg. Was heading to Grandview and stopped and spoke to Kevin and Keith Inglin.  Had a beer and was very good.  Cars looked real nice sitting out front!  Gotta get back to doing that, I think the younger generation rely too much on social media which is good, but the physical presence of a race car is as important.
