Sad news We (GSVSCC) were very fortunate to have Wally at our HOF Banquet on March 20th. It was great having him and his long time friend Ken Brenn Sr. togerther one last time. I will tresure his friendship forever

Sad news. Huge part of Northeast racing history.  Glad to spend a few minutes with him at the banquet this year. So friendly and happy to talk about racing.  Rest in peace.

Do you know who owned this car? From this angle, it looks like a dirt champ car, but the only results I can find of Wally driving an Offenhauser powered car is a sprint car race at Reading in June of '65 in a car owned by Ken Brenn.

Using Dick Wallen's book Roar From the Sixties as a resource, Wally is at Springfield in August 1969. His Kuzma chassis dirt champ car is Offy powered. He qualified 14th, finished 7th.

With Wally living in East Brunswick back in the 60's and 70's, and me, as a kid, living in South Brunswick, Wally was our local hero on a National scale.  When Wally was in a race, whether at Langhorne, Trenton, Pocono, Indy.... or wherever, we always had someone "local" to root for, and Wally made us proud.

My condolences to the Dallenbach Family.

Earl Krause has a wonderful tribute to Wally in his AARN column today. Wally's life story from a successful local NJ racer to a respected chief steward with the CART Indy Car Series is a great read in a book offered by Coastal 181.

Purchased this picture of Wally and Ken Brenn at Englishtown swap meet about twenty five years ago. Had Mr. Brenn sign it at his Warren car show. Remember Wally driving the XL-1 at Old Bridge.
