There’s actually a historical marker plague out at the site in 2013. I’m posting the picture that I found online of someone’s concept of the size of the track. I’ve heard heard so many times the football grandstands are the original speedway stands. I always knew that wasn’t true.

I went to Woodbridge HS and used to cut through the field and football stadium to walk to school. It wasn’t fun in the rain, because of standing water. One of my teachers took our class on a walking tour of where the old speedway was. He claimed some partiality burried cable was part of the original guardrail. Pic still fails to post. |

I think he was my dad's favorite driver too. As mentioned, by dad went to the races with his dad at Woodbridge when he was probably around 10 - 12, so I guess you could say that's what started it all for me, as he remained a race fan all his life, and went to tracks such as Woodbridge, Old Bridge, East Windsor, Flemington, Bridgeport, Nazareth, Trenton, Langhorne, Dover, Indianapolis, and Daytona. It only made sense for him to start taking me to the races at some point, which I'm sure is a similar story for a lot of you reading this. |

Thanks, it allowed me to load the one pic, basically as I would on any forum. Then the function went south. |
