I wondered why there was no posts about Charlotte. I did get to watch a little on a special box I have.  SDCS racing seems to be boring compared to what we get most nites at NJ and Pa modified tracks.  Both winners both started on pole and when you look back theres very minimal passing all through the fields.  In fairness they race late models and 410s and the track is not exactly condusive for passing for any of those divisions.  When there is passing its restarts, someone messes up and gets over the big cushion or on rare ocassion gets caught in lapped traffic.  Yawner

I think you might have answered your own question. Not one bit of advertising for the race down here which is part for the course. And they wonder why the stands are empty.

Time trials put the good guys up front for the heats. They get to the redraw and start in the front again. Repeat every race.

The racing was ok. Looked pretty dusty and dry, but the drought is there too, besides some rain on Wednesday night.  It is definitly more of an "event". The track is like racing asphalt.   I like the format stretched over four days for the simple reason, it's the last real dirt racing of the year. The championship scenario for the Modifieds was compelling.  The Late Models got interesting, but the sprint cars was pretty over before it started.

Johhny Gibson is a great announcer for the Outlaw Sprint Cars, but when you have all three announcers, waaaay over the top, I find myself muting, just to get a break from it.
