Being a big fan of Whip Mulligan back in the day, I was hoping to join his fan club in 1970. When I didn't see his fan club at Nazareth Speedway, I inquired about it with the fine folks at Area Auto Racing News in 1971 and they were nice enough to reply and let me know that the club wasn't active at the time. I never did get the chance to own a Mulligan Fan Club card. 55 years later--I finally have a Whip Mulligan Fan Club card in my possession. Found this rare one on eBay. I guess this one was given to Bobby Bottcher's Fan Club (spelled wrong on the card). I'm thinking maybe back then some of the fan clubs gave out complimentary memberships --like a courtesy to the other fan club presidents at the track. |

Jack, congrats on your find! That is really cool, and amazing after all these years. I still have my Frankie Schneider Fan Club membership card, pen, sticker and key chain from 1970. |

I was a member of Whip's fan club but I sure don't have my old membership card. The Club President was an attractive young woman named Joan Calloway who, as I recall, handed me my card at the Nazareth half mile in the presence of Lee and Neal Mulligan. |

This is my 1965 photo of my mom, Ruth Ely, modeling the Augie & Jackie Moschera (unofficial) fan club shirt. Ruth lettered a number of these shirts for a group of fans that rooted for Augie and Jackie at the Wall and {1/4 mile asphalt) New Egypt Speedways. Scott Ely |
