Any thoughts on a droop rule in the Modified Division? Or maybe it would be better to do what Grandview did by phasing out the left-side panhard setup? 

"Over the weekend, Weedsport Speedway conducted an experiment with the big-block Modifieds by implementing a droop rule for all cars in competition....

In simple terms, the purpose of the rule and the reason for this past weekend’s test was to keep the cars from hiking up on the left side and rolling over onto the right rear side of the car as hard as they currently do.....

 it was decided to run this experiment at Weedsport Speedway where there were no weekly points or series points on the line.

“There’s been concern about the rubber floors on the cars, and how these cars are hooking up and twisting and all that stuff,” said DIRTcar Northeast Director Dean Reynolds.  “The strain on the drivetrain, strain on the rear ends, and there’s been cracking on parts of the chassis and stuff like that. There’s just so much lean on the car and things like that. 

Drivers shouldn’t be worried that this rule is coming to fruition on a regular basis for any part of this year. It is in the early phases... "

It works for late models.  Now they need to straighten the bodies out on late models.

it would be a lot less complicated going with right-side panhard bar. the racing at grandview especially this year has been great. dont cost much to change it .

I'm watching the Pure Stocks at Fonda and I thought half the field was going to chuck their bodies over the first turn fence on the first lap of heat #1. Why do these guys need to roll over like that?

David, the problem with that is, they never roll back over. They look ridiculous.  It was a cool class, of low slung bodies, until someone figured out they go faster when you jam the left rear up in the air and of course they all copied.

I agree 100% with Kevin on this regarding a droop rule for pure stocks.  I don't know who makes the bodies used by the stocks (late models) the run at Fonda and Utica Rome.  BUT, I think they look ridiculous the way they lean over (all the time) to the left. I swear the cars damn near don't need cut outs for the wheels/tires on the passenger side as they'll hiked up so high!  Just my opinion.  Scott Ely
