First time in along time watched the first 2 Nascar races from beginning to end. I don't know that's because I liked the racing or I'm getting older and watching alot of TV sitting in my recliner. I still wish they'd go to shorter races on shorter tracks both asphalt and dirt. I think a while back Nascar decided to try to change the cars, change the racing format and try to appeal to younger and more diverse competitors and fan base. I don't have any official numbers but unofficially looking at the crowds in the first two races looks like their efforts are paying off.
