i can remember the fans at wall booing tommie elliott in 1967-

he was one of the smoothest , slickest , cleanest drivers you ever saw , and won a lot

in the XL-1 for don house & al gerham -i think he was also track champion that year -

i imagine  kelly,dallenbach , etc, went through the same thing in the late

'50's early '60's , too--as well as a lot of the dirt drivers of that era -

if you're  a constant winner , it goes with the territory !!
