During the Grosso era I can remember a couple times where they held hot laps back for a while to see if the rain held off. Let one race car on the track and it rains you're on the hook for insurance. There was one night when they were moments away from sending cars out and I saw something somewhere that said rain was imminent. I told them to not let cars out yet. It rained. They had to cancel immediately. I felt good about my "executive decision " going home that day.
