 Wall, in the 70's (as I knew it) to the early 80's was a race track you had to get to early and get "your seat". Crowds were big every week.  Many people got there early to watch warm ups. Jennie Nichol would open the gates no matter what. Forecast good or bad, they opened. 

The old story of guys calling from the pits pay phone to the track office, while standing in the rain, and the person, usually Jennie, telling them "yes, we are racing and the weather is good here".

On this night, a cancellation post warm ups, allowed a lot of fans a great photo op. I bet Frank A jr. has a bunch of these too

Different times now with weather in your hand.  Oh well!
