It's pretty sad. Thompson was one of the nicest, well run tracks on the East coast. They had three Mod races that were part of the Northeast traditional races. The Ice Breaker in late March-early April, the Thompson 300 in mid September, than the World Series in Mid October.

The Fall in Modifieds rivaled what dirt has now. You had the 300, the Race of Champions, the World Series then Martinsville.  Thompson always had it tough because they ran on Sunday in the 70's and Thursday nights in the 80's and 90's.  I never knew why Thompsn did not run Saturdays, because they were much bigger than Waterford and Stafford owned Friday's.  Saw a lot of great races there and miss going there every Fall.
