The RTA (race teams association) of NASCAR owners have hired a marketing company to see if the is an interest in starting a series of races in the off season without NASCAR being involved. The reason given is the teams are havi trouble turning a profit. Should make the negotiations over tv money interesting for sure. Time will tell I guess but there seems to be more and more people talking about moving away from what is being offered as a series.
