A few years back there was an old saying in auto racing. “When the green flag drops, the BS stops”. I’m sure many of you remember it. I think it still applies in our weekly shows at our local tracks.However I think the opposite applies in the current NASCAR world. I consider lucky dogs, wave around, stage racing and the play offs BS racing. It’s artificial. Especially the lucky dog. You lose a lap racing you should have to get it back racing. Jimmie Johnson, a great driver, does not get the respect Petty and Earnhardt get because he is considered a ten race champion.Without the play off format he would not have a single championship. Stageracing would be more acceptable if they didn’t throw the caution and interrupt the flow of the race. They will do this on road courses in 2023.
