Original Message

Well, if it's the same interview I saw, he got punted out of the lead by a young driver and then when interviewed after the race, he was honest enough to show some emotion in a professional manner, and if I remember specifically, he said something lile "To all the young drivers out there, Don't do that."

I think Ryan was hoping, the same way I used to hope, that somehow NASCAR could have events where drivers are not rewarded for taking out competitors, causing big wrecks, who then often to go on to victory lane by making moves like Ryan was referring to, rather than being penalized, and/or maybe thinking twice the next time they make a move that has little to no chance of working.

"Boys have at it usually ends up with who ever has the deepest pockets, (or whoever's daddy has the deepest pockets) will be around the longest, and that has not been Ryan's situation.  The announcers said he actually took out a 2nd mortgage on his house to get a few shots behind the wheel of the Gibbs #18 xFinity car a few years ago, as his last chance at showing his ability, in hopes of getting the exposure needed to possibly land a quality cup ride.

At this point, it looks like it paid off, and hopefully so is his 2nd mortgage!
