The evolution of Factory / Street Stock to more a expensive class has happened over and over again since I became a fan . Starting with the hobby class in the 50's, that class evolved into the limited sportsman and then merged with the sportsman class and started running their own features not a combination of sportsman and modified.

Another is the 6 Cylinder modern stock class in the early 70's which started as a class for strictly stock cars on the asphalt tracks in Jersey. turned into late model looking cars, then they went to V8's and then became full blown late madel class.  Did they end the Late Model class at Wall?

I think the problem is in enforcing the rules and the wealthier owners always want to make  it harder on the little guys by improving the cars to make them faster and the little guys can't keep up.
