For whatever the reasons, these posts reminded me of a Saturday night back in 1985 or 86 where Grandview and other tracks were rained out but sun was shining brightly that day on the square. Dave Hoffman towed his Grandview 6 cylinder late model to run that night so he could race. Don't know why that popped up in my mind, but man I miss that place.
