In the modified division he finished 2nd in his heat behind Carl Van Horn, then finished 5th in the 100-lap feature behind winner Will Cagle, Paul Rochelle, Carl Van Horn and Ed Farley. In the limited sportsman division he finished 2nd in his heat behind Jay Beers, then finished 4th in the 20-lap feature behind winner Don Miller, Larry Honey and Butch Tittle. Per race records of that evening graciously provided to me by Jim's wife, Jim's earnings in the modified division totaled $490, his earnings in the limited sportsman division totaled $93.
