I remember Red Farmer flipping his #97 at in probably the early 80's Daytona when it was still called the Permatex 300, on possibly the opening lap... it was just past the tri oval I think, heading toward turn 1.

Sadly, the Ryan Preece flip reminded me of the Bruce Jacobi flip coming off of turn 2 in which Bruce lost his life. 

I didn't see the update on Ryan yet, but did see that he was standing next to his car after the crash, and that they then had him lay on the stretcher and were headed to Halifax Hospital.
